San Diego Astronomy
Association. With over 400 members, this organization always
has something going on. Check out their website for complete details
on activities and events!
Telescope Makers Conference. The RTMC, held every year over
the Memorial Day weekend in May, is one of California's premier
telescope making events. Located in the SoCal mountains, the day
of talks and shopping for telescope parts gives way to nights of
observing and camping.
"Explore the Stars". Coordinated
by Russell Sipe, the man behind the official website of Comet Hale-Bopp,
, is being held at the campground a short drive from Palomar Observatory.
County Astronomers. An astronomical society located
in Orange County, with over 800 members and a club observing
site is 30 miles east of Temecula. Many members live in the northern San

base in California. Also has tips on viewing and photographing the
Theodore von Kármán Lecture Series at the Jet Propulsion
Laboratory. These free lectures, held monthly, cover a wide arena
of space and astronomical tastes.
